Butler connects to your accounts (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, and others) to perform tasks you ask it to do. We access the minimum data needed to fulfill your requests. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data for advertising or any purpose unrelated to providing the service.
When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. This is used solely to create your account and communicate with you about the service.
When you ask Butler to read an email, summarize a thread, or find a file, we fetch that content to answer you and do not keep our own copy of the underlying email or file. Your conversation with Butler is stored, because it is what lets Butler remember context between messages. We retain:
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3. Connection tokens are stored encrypted at rest. We follow industry standard security practices to protect your information.
Butler uses a third party AI model provider (DeepSeek) to understand your requests and decide what to do. To answer a question about your inbox, calendar or files, the relevant content is sent to that provider as part of the request. This means email text, calendar details and file content you ask about do leave our servers and are processed by them on our behalf. We do not send them your connection tokens or passwords, we do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it with any third party for any purpose beyond carrying out what you asked for. We do not permit your data to be used to train models.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we delete your connection tokens and personal data within 30 days.
When you delete your account, we delete your conversation history, your assistant's memory, your connected app authorisations (including at our integrations partner), and your WhatsApp session. We keep one thing: your email address. We retain it so that an account which is deleted and later recreated does not receive a second free trial. It is not used to contact you, and it is not shared. If you want your email address removed as well, email us and we will delete it.

The Butler app uses essential cookies to keep you logged in. Our public website also uses Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit, which sets its own cookies and shares usage data with Google. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not run third party ad trackers.
